1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Family Life platform, including its web application, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Family Life is a family management and financial organization platform that helps households coordinate schedules, track budgets, manage tasks, and organize family information in one place.

The Service is provided by Mengel Enterprises LLC, 125 S. Jefferson St., Chicago, IL 60661.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Accounts and Access

4.1 Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account with accurate, current, and complete information.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@family-life.io if you suspect unauthorized access.

4.3 Family Member Access

You may invite family members to access your account. You are responsible for ensuring that all invited members comply with these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payment

5.1 Subscription Plans

The Service is offered under subscription plans described at family-life.io/pricing.

5.2 Billing

By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis per your selected plan. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc.

5.3 Free Trials

If we offer a free trial, your account will automatically convert to a paid plan at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends.

5.4 Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. We may issue credits for service outages attributable to us.

5.5 Taxes

You are responsible for all applicable taxes, which may be added to your invoice.

6. Financial Features

Family Life may include tools to help you track budgets, expenses, and financial goals. These tools are for personal organizational purposes only and do not constitute financial advice. We are not a bank, financial institution, or registered investment advisor. You are solely responsible for all financial decisions you make based on information displayed in the Service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent information
Attempt to access accounts belonging to other users
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content and data you enter into the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service and Your Content complies with applicable law.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights in the Service — including software, interfaces, branding, and documentation — are owned by Mengel Enterprises LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in the Service other than the limited license to use it.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mengel Enterprises LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mengel Enterprises LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (A) amounts paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (B) one hundred dollars ($100).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mengel Enterprises LLC from claims arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Term and Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you have an active account. You may cancel at any time through account settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms. Sections on IP, liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts of Cook County, Illinois.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time with at least 14 days' advance notice for material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
